ABOUT THE ENGINEERSWISS TYPOGRAPHY

Crafting Resilient Software From First Principles.

I am Alif Akbar, a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer and independent product engineer based in Medan, Indonesia. I specialize in building high-throughput backend services, rescuing legacy enterprise codebases, and designing seamless user experiences.

The Journey & Mindset.

My path in software engineering started with curiosity for how high-concurrency platforms survive under peak user traffic. Over the past 4+ years, I transitioned from crafting standalone web tools to architecting multi-region backend microservices and complex enterprise Laravel systems.

As a sole engineer on several mission-critical platforms, I manage every layer of the product lifecycle: database schema normalization, Go API proxies, Inertia/Vue frontend state pipelines, and containerized Docker edge deployments.

Boring Reliable Tech

I pick battle-tested tools like Go, PostgreSQL, and Laravel over unproven trends to guarantee 99.99% uptime.

Test-Driven Discipline

Wrapping complex business logic in automated Pest/PHPUnit and Go test suites before modifying legacy code.

First Principles Debugging

Tracing memory allocations, OS locks, and network packets instead of pasting trial-and-error StackOverflow fixes.

Fun Facts & Workspace Philosophy

Big listener of 90s/2000s Pop Punk & Alternative Rock while coding (blink-182 enthusiast).

03

Prefers boring, highly reliable tech over short-lived flashy frameworks.

04

Driven by first-principles problem solving and strict zero-downtime principles.
